Tech Martes no.6: Updates

Table top Maarat see you this weekend

Round of Updates from previous Tech Martes articles.

Tech Martes Special: SS Retro Beater
Riding SS beater with only rear linear pull brake scary. Next upgrade shiny new brakes and a front fork. Shimano V-brakes are on the way the fork on the other hand might take a while.

Installed Top Peak saddle bag on SS for lugging around tools and spare tubes.

Tech Martes: SR Suntour Epicon
After the 1st race of the year Good ol' Epicon got its proper test. With only low to medium bump compliance to complain about. Latter can be tuned by adjusting rebound, former by internal tuning. Friend Epicon was tuned specifically to improve its weaknesses and results are positive. Looking forward for my fork to get the same treatment stay tuned.

Tech Martes: Clydessentials wheelset
Front rim got intimate with a under bone. Resulting crash dislocated the stem along with the handlebar, f*cked with the alignment a little and left inch scratch on my rim. Testament to the strength of setup re-aligned the stem, tightened the hub and continued with that day activities (Bike ride: 1st century of the year) without any issues.
Two weeks prior to the incident got to fix the minor alignment problem front rim now good as new.

Rims: Spank OOZY evo 29er
Spokes, nipple: DT swiss revolutions, brass.
Hubs: Dartmoor vee bolt axle

Tech Martes: One by setup
Nine speed setups will get a much needed boost as Shimano Alivio family gets a 650b and 29er specific cassette and cranks ratios 12x36, 40-30-22 respectively.

Icing on the proverbial cake would be having Clutch tech on Alivio 9 speed Rear derailleurs maybe next year update Mr. Shimano?
