Bike ride: "Puray"

Lately been spending my Sundays doing laundry or just sleeping all day before family activities but not yesterday. Got invited on a group ride from the boys of “Siglo siklista” at Puray Rodriguez rizal so instead of sleeping till Lunch decided to wake up early and bike till my legs cramped Let’s go!

Padyak all the way starts at my friend home in Tandang Sora QC to Commonwealth, Batasan, San Mateo Rizal, Rodriguez Rizal. Route from the start was all road with gradual increasing gradients along commonwealth, flat through batasan; San Mateo, and parts of Rodriguez rizal when you first encounter a steep road climb after a quarry then you know you are halfway to puray. Now puray is not just famous for its sweet waterfall but also the trails and multiple river crossings littered with fist sized rocks, sand, and loose soil.
The last time we visited Puray the rivers where rough and deep; knee, hip deep to be exact soaking headsets, bottom brackets, and hubs along the way. Yesterday ride was the opposite as almost all of the river crossings we encountered were only foot deep. Weather was pleasant none of that intense heat and torrential rain we encountered the last time, plus as a bonus traffic on return trip Both on San Mateo and grueling climb up batasan was light.

Puray Falls

Every Manila Mountain Biker has a favorite spot. Puray ranks high on my favorite personal list because of the sheer challenge going to the spot and the reward you get when you finally conquered all the rocks, rivers, and steep climbs.
Water low today
Yes I am standing at the top
Extra rocks please
